Apple to Allow Default App Changes for EU iPhone Users in 2025

iOS 18.4, expected in April 2025, will include these new capabilities, allowing apps like Google Maps and Google Translator as defaults.
The update will introduce a 'Default Apps' section in Settings, expanding user control over app preferences.
Current iOS 18.2 beta already allows EU users to set default apps for browsers, mail, and other categories.
Apple's compliance document was released alongside the European Commission's assessment of Apple's adherence to the Digital Markets Act.
