  • Rollout begins Monday at about 10 a.m. PT, and the iPhone 17 lineup will ship with the software preinstalled.
  • The update debuts the translucent Liquid Glass look across the system, with refreshed icons for Apple apps arriving via App Store updates.
  • Apple Intelligence adds live translation in Messages, FaceTime and Phone plus broader Visual Intelligence, though many AI tools require iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max, or M1‑class iPads and Macs.
  • CarPlay gains the new design, wider widget support and Live Activities, plus AirPlay video streaming that works only when parked and only in vehicles that support AirPlay; no in‑car update is needed beyond installing iOS 26 on the phone.
