Apple Rolls Out Second Developer Betas for Its OS 27 Suite

The release starts an iterative testing phase that focuses testing on Siri AI, expanded Apple Intelligence and interface and performance refinements before a July public beta.

Overview

  • Apple seeded second developer betas for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, tvOS 27, visionOS 27 and HomePod software on Monday, and registered developers can install them from each device’s Settings app under Software Update.
  • Publishers reported specific build numbers for the second wave, for example iOS 27 beta 2 uses build 24A5370h and macOS 27 beta 2 is 26A5368g, showing Apple is tracking iterative builds across platforms.
  • The most prominent change under test is a rebuilt Siri renamed Siri AI, a chatbot‑style assistant that uses world knowledge, personal data from apps, and on‑screen awareness plus a dedicated Siri app and new Visual Intelligence Camera modes.
  • OS 27 betas also refine the Liquid Glass visuals with improved opacity and a transparency slider, standardize macOS window styling, and include targeted performance fixes such as faster app launches, AirDrop and Camera behavior.
  • Outlets warn these are early developer builds that may be unstable, Apple plans a public beta in July (visionOS has no public beta) and a fall final release, and developers are urged to back up devices and use secondary hardware for testing.
