Apple Rolls Out M5-Powered Vision Pro 2 as M5 Comes to MacBook Pro and iPad Pro

The move extends Apple's latest chip across its lineup to drive on‑device AI gains.

Overview

  • The second‑generation Vision Pro starts at US$3,499 in the U.S., is launching in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and the U.K., and has no confirmed release for Brazil.

  • Battery life is rated at up to 2.5 hours for general use or three hours for video playback, and a new Dual Knit Band is designed to be softer and more padded for comfort.
  • Apple also introduced M5-based MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models, with the 14‑inch MacBook Pro priced in Brazil from R$19,999 and sales starting October 22, and the new iPad Pro featuring Wi‑Fi 7 via the N1 chip and a C1X mobile modem.
  • Bloomberg reports Apple canceled a larger, lower‑priced Vision Pro redesign to prioritize development of lighter smart glasses similar to Meta’s devices.
