Overview

  • iOS 18.6 (build 22G86) is available now for supported iPhones via Settings > General > Software Update, with matching updates for iPadOS, macOS Sequoia, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.
  • The release fixes a Photos app glitch that could block sharing memory movies and addresses various stability bugs across Apple’s ecosystem.
  • More than 20 security vulnerabilities have been patched in iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6, none of which are known to have been exploited in the wild.
  • In the European Union, users will see a new interface to install alternative app marketplaces or download apps directly from developer websites under the Digital Markets Act.
  • Apple has indicated this is the last feature-focused update for the current OS generation as it shifts into maintenance mode and escalates public beta testing of iOS 26 for a September debut.
