Image Playground will be available as a standalone app and integrated into communication apps like Messages, allowing users to generate images from descriptions or photos.
The feature will launch with iOS 18.2 in December, supporting devices with the iPhone 15 Pro or later, and iPads or Macs with the M1 chip or newer.
Apple is working to comply with EU regulations before releasing Apple Intelligence features in Europe, with initial support for English variants starting in December and other languages next year.
