Overview

  • Apple restored dedicated Library and Collections tabs to the Photos app following user complaints about the previous iOS18 interface.
  • The Camera app now highlights only photo and video on its main screen, with swipe gestures revealing modes like Portrait and Cinematic and a swipe-up interface for settings.
  • Users can instantly toggle resolution between HD and 4K or change video frame rates with a single tap on the Camera interface.
  • A new spatial photo feature transforms 2D images into depth-enhanced 3D photos for holographic-style viewing on the Lock Screen.
  • These changes showcase Apple's 'liquid glass' design language and are available now in the iOS26 developer beta ahead of a public launch in September.
