Apple Retires 25 Products in 2025 as Chip Refreshes Clean Up the Lineup

Most cuts reflected successor models with newer chips, capped by the iPhone SE’s exit that closed the Home button era.

Overview

  • Seven iPhones left shelves, including the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, and the iPhone SE, with Plus variants giving way to an ultra‑thin iPhone Air direction.
  • iPad Pro with M4, iPad Air with M2, and the 10th‑generation iPad were replaced by M5, M3, and A16 versions without major design changes.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2, Series 10, and SE 2 were dropped in favor of Ultra 3, Series 11, and SE 3, and the latest watches did not introduce new chip generations.
  • Mac removals included Mac Studio with M2 Max/Ultra, the 14‑inch MacBook Pro with M4, and MacBook Air models powered by M3 along with the remaining M2 Air.
  • Accessories trimmed out AirPods Pro 2, the original Vision Pro with M2, select MagSafe chargers and a 30W USB‑C power adapter, plus the Lightning‑to‑3.5mm cable now superseded by a USB‑C version in certain markets.
