Apple's second beta for iOS 17.2 and macOS 14.2 introduces enhancements such as interactive playlist editing on Apple Music, prioritizing volume on Apple Fitness+, controls for listening history on Apple Music, in-app reactions with any sticker, and innovative features like Journal app that uses machine learning for personalized suggestions, contact key verification for secure messaging.

  • Apple's second beta for iOS 17.2 and macOS 14.2 introduces the first version of the Journal app which uses on-device machine learning to provide personalized suggestions that can inspire a user’s journal entry.
  • The new versions include Apple Fitness+ Audio Focus, giving users the ability to prioritize the volume of the music or the trainers’ voices during an Apple Fitness+ workout.
  • Enhancements in the Apple Music app are also introduced, including the ability to invite friends to collaborate on playlists, a Focus Filter to turn off the Listening History feature, and a Favorite Playlist with all your songs.
  • A Translate button has been added as a new option for the iPhone 15 Pro’s Action Button, and a new sticker or memoji reaction feature is also now included in iMessage.
  • Additional security measures include iMessage Contact Key Verification, which allows users to manually verify who they're messaging with by comparing contact verification codes in person or over the phone.
