Overview
- Apple’s release notes say macOS 26.0.1 provides bug fixes and security updates and resolves an issue that prevented some Mac Studio (M3 Ultra, 2025) units from upgrading to Tahoe.
- Impacted systems saw the installer appear to complete before reverting to macOS Sequoia, with reports pointing to a hardware check failure linked to a Neural Engine–related component.
- Apple also shipped iOS and iPadOS 26.0.1, tvOS 26.0.1, visionOS 26.0.1, and watchOS 26.0.2 to address early issues including Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth dropouts, cellular connectivity problems, camera artifacts, VoiceOver bugs, and Apple TV audio sync.
- Several of the updates patch a FontParser vulnerability that could cause app termination or memory corruption when handling malicious fonts, with related fixes issued for macOS Sequoia 15.7.1 and Sonoma 14.8.1.
- Users are encouraged to back up and install via System Settings > General > Software Update, with full installers and IPSW images also available from Apple’s download links.
