Overview

  • Apple rolled out iOS 27.0.1 on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, and the update is available over the air in Settings → General → Software Update or via IPSW files for manual install.
  • The release fixes a Face ID–related fault on iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max that could cause authentication to fail, trigger a “Face ID is Not Available” message, freeze the device, or lead to unexpected restarts.
  • iOS 27.0.1 also resolves a touchscreen freeze that could occur when Notification Center and Control Center are opened at the same time and corrects a rare color artifact that appeared in some 2x photos on a small number of iPhone 18 Pro models.
  • Apple issued matching 27.0.1 bug‑fix builds for iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS as part of typical post‑release granular updates; published build numbers include iOS/iPadOS 27.0.1 (24A446) and macOS 27.0.1 (26A434).
