Overview
- iOS 27 began rolling out today as an over-the-air update for iPhone 11 and newer models and supported second- and third-generation iPhone SE units.
- Apple introduced a dedicated, conversational Siri app that uses personal context and on‑screen awareness and combines Apple’s Foundation Models with Google’s Gemini to power responses.
- Visual Intelligence is integrated into the Camera app so users can ask Siri about objects or scenes, get actions like bill splitting, and use new Photos tools such as Spatial Reframing and Extend.
- Many advanced Apple Intelligence features are hardware‑gated to recent models (iPhone 15 Pro and newer or iPhone 16 series and later), will be server‑gated by region, and are not available in the EU at launch.
- Users are advised to back up data, free storage, and update via Settings → General → Software Update, and Apple says several beta features removed from the initial build will return in iOS 27.1 ahead of new‑device shipments.
