Overview
- Apple is expected to unveil four models — the iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max — in the second week of September with pre-orders slated to start the following Friday.
- The iPhone 17 Air is tipped to replace the Plus variant with a 6.6-inch OLED display, a single 48 MP rear camera and an ultra-thin 5.5 mm aluminum frame.
- Pro models are rumored to feature aluminum edges and a larger rectangular camera island hosting three 48 MP sensors, including a periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and support for 8K video recording.
- The lineup is said to run on iOS 26 and to be powered by Apple’s next-generation A19 chip in base models and an A19 Pro in Pro versions, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and vapor-chamber cooling.
- Reports suggest MagSafe chargers will be upgraded to deliver up to 50 W of wireless charging and that global prices could rise to offset higher manufacturing costs and tariffs.
