Overview
- Apple rolled out new AirPods firmware Monday that enables iOS 27 features for AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max 2.
- The update activates a device-level customizable equalizer that stores low, mid, and high settings on supported AirPods and shows a live waveform while you adjust sound.
- AirPods Pro 3 gains model-specific features such as GymKit heart-rate syncing to compatible gym machines and deeper Siri AI compatibility on iPhone.
- Most outlets report the firmware build as 9A348 while at least one reported 9A350, a minor reporting discrepancy that does not change the described feature set.
- There is no manual update button for AirPods so the firmware installs automatically when the earbuds are paired to an iOS device and connected to power and the process can take several hours.
