Overview
- Apple unveiled the capability at WWDC, which Monday formed part of its iOS 27 preview of new Apple Intelligence features.
- The Passwords app will use agentic Apple Intelligence together with Safari to sign in to eligible sites and replace weak or compromised passwords without further user steps.
- When the system is active it shows a Live Activity so users can see the automated process in progress and confirm changes.
- iOS 27 that includes the feature is available in a developer beta today, will reach a public beta next month, and is scheduled for a broad release in September.
- The change builds on the standalone Passwords app Apple released two years ago and aims to reduce user friction and improve password hygiene by automating end-to-end remediation.
