Apple Music Rolls Out Built-In Library Transfer in U.S. and More Countries

Powered by SongShift, the feature matches tracks to Apple’s catalog with a 30-day review window.

Overview

  • Apple’s native transfer tool is now available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
  • Users can import from Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, and Deezer into Apple Music.
  • Transfers work on iOS, Android, and the web, and Apple recommends ensuring Sync Library is enabled before starting.
  • Only user-created playlists, liked songs, and albums are eligible for import, and the process does not change or delete anything in the source service.
  • Unmatched items prompt a “Some Music Needs Review” flow with 30 days to fix matches, and you cannot start another transfer on that device until the review is completed; third-party options like the SongShift app or TuneMyMusic remain alternatives in unsupported regions.
