Overview
- Apple seeded release‑candidate builds to developers on Monday, October 19, 2026, for iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2 and HomePod Software 27.2.
- The RCs include visible user changes such as Messages suggested actions, Apple TV profiles on iPad, a redesigned Apple Music icon and interface, an overhauled Podcasts Up Next queue, and a new iPad Siri contextual popup.
- iOS 27.2 expands Siri AI support to additional languages including French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, and adds a Europe‑specific expanded App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- Apple has kept iPhone Duo–specific work on a separate 27.1 branch so most devices will skip 27.1 and update directly to 27.2, and the company may issue a second RC only if testing finds new bugs.
- The RC follows several weeks of developer and public betas that trialed larger items such as a revamped Health app (which has been removed from the RC and will arrive later), and the public rollout is expected before the end of October.
