Apple Launches Second Public Betas of Six OS Updates with Liquid Glass Design and On-Device AI
Public testers can now download builds matching the fifth developer seed through their devices’ Settings app to preview the unified Liquid Glass aesthetic alongside new Apple Intelligence tools ahead of the scheduled September release

- Apple released second public betas for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, tvOS 26, watchOS 26 and visionOS 26 on August 7, matching the fifth developer seeds.
- The updates extend Apple’s Liquid Glass design across all platforms, from transparent menus and rounded icons on iPhone and iPad to a customizable Control Center and Menu Bar on macOS Tahoe and persistent widgets on Vision Pro.
- On-device Apple Intelligence features now include Visual Intelligence for screenshots, live translation in Messages, Phone and FaceTime, Genmoji emoji-mixing, ChatGPT-style Image Playground and Spatial Scene 3D photo effects.
- watchOS 26 public beta 2 adds the AI-powered Workout Buddy coach, a redesigned Workout app, smarter Smart Stack suggestions, Live Translation in Messages, new call-screening tools and a native Notes app on Apple Watch.
- tvOS 26 beta 2 introduces Apple Music Sing using the iPhone as a microphone, lyric translation and pronunciation tools, enhanced FaceTime call notifications and aerial screensavers, while macOS Tahoe beta 2 offers Phone app Wi-Fi calling, redesigned Safari tabs, an overhauled Spotlight and a new Games app powered by Metal 4.
