Overview

• Apple opened preorders for the M5-equipped 14-inch MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and Vision Pro today, with deliveries beginning October 22 in the U.S., Europe and select Asian markets and later availability expected in additional countries such as Argentina.
• Built on a third-generation 3 nm process, M5 includes an up to 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU with a dedicated Neural Accelerator per core, a 16-core Neural Engine and about 153 GB/s of unified memory bandwidth.
• Apple says M5 delivers over 4x GPU compute for AI versus M4 and up to 45% faster ray-tracing workloads, enabling more Apple Intelligence features and larger local models to run on device.
• The new 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,599 and is rated for up to 24 hours of battery life, while the 16-inch model remains on M4 Pro/Max as reporting indicates higher-tier M5 variants will arrive later.
• iPad Pro comes in 11- and 13-inch versions starting at $999, and Vision Pro keeps a $3,499 price while adding an R1 co-processor plus comfort and display improvements, with availability confirmed for markets including the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong and the UAE.
