Apple Launches iOS 26 Developer Beta With ‘Liquid Glass’ Overhaul

Overview

  • The new Liquid Glass design brings translucent visuals, refined icons and depth effects to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.
  • The developer beta is available now with a public beta set for early July ahead of a full September release aligned with the iPhone 17 launch.
  • Users gain native custom ringtones and enhanced call controls including call screening and Hold Assist.
  • Messages adds built-in group polls, Apple Music debuts AutoMix transitions and Adaptive Power Mode learns usage patterns to extend battery life.
  • Compatibility is limited to iPhone 11 series and later while advanced AI functions like Live Translation, Visual Intelligence and Apple Intelligence run only on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models.
