Overview

  • Apple seeded the fifth developer beta of iOS 26 (build 23A5308g) on August 5, with equivalent betas for iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26 and visionOS 26.
  • The update introduces minor interface tweaks such as fresh splash screens for core apps, a bouncy lock-screen animation and a redesigned AirDrop icon.
  • A new Classic Mode Switching toggle in the Camera app and the restored Select button in Mail address feedback from earlier betas.
  • Support remains limited to iPhone models from 2019 onward, excluding 2018 devices, while security updates for older hardware will continue on iOS 18.
  • Apple Intelligence features requiring on-device machine learning stay confined to iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 series, with Public Beta 2 expected soon.
