Apple Extends Legacy HomeKit Cutoff to February 10, 2026

The extension gives HomeKit users more time to migrate to the new architecture to preserve Home app access on supported devices.

Overview

  • Apple’s updated support page sets February 10, 2026 as the final end-of-support date for the previous Apple Home architecture.
  • After the cutoff, homes that do not migrate may experience failures controlling accessories and automations, and the Home app will no longer work on older OS versions.
  • The updated system requires at least iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, macOS 13.1, tvOS 16.2, or watchOS 9.2, which means unsupported devices will lose Home access.
  • Apple says customers who do not update manually may be upgraded automatically, and all homes owned by the same account are updated together.
  • The new architecture adds guest access, robot vacuum support and Activity History with faster, more reliable performance, and users can update via Home app > More > Home Settings > Software Update > Update Now.
