Apple Extends Free Satellite Access for iPhone 14 and 15 Through 2026

Apple’s satellite tools now cover emergency SOS, texting, location sharing, roadside help.

  • Eligible iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 units activated in supported countries before 12 a.m. PT on September 9, 2025 receive an additional free year of satellite features.
  • The extension pushes any potential charges for these devices to at least mid‑September 2026, with no pricing yet announced.
  • Apple’s satellite capabilities operate via Globalstar and remain unavailable for devices purchased or activated in Armenia, Belarus, China mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia.
  • New iPhone 17 buyers get one year of free satellite access, and Apple Watch Ultra 3 adds satellite connectivity with a free year as well.
  • Emergency SOS via satellite has expanded since launch to include Messages via satellite, Find My location sharing, and roadside assistance for use off the grid.
