Overview
- Apple’s iOS 26.2 developer beta 1 increases the Lock Screen clock’s Liquid Glass slider range, letting the time appear nearly fully transparent or very opaque.
- The enhanced slider is accessed by pressing and holding the Lock Screen, choosing Customize, tapping the clock, and adjusting the Liquid Glass control.
- This per-clock control complements, rather than replaces, the new systemwide Clear/Tinted toggle that arrived with iOS 26.1.
- iOS 26.1 is now publicly available with the Clear/Tinted Liquid Glass option in Settings > Display & Brightness > Liquid Glass, applying a more opaque look across apps and system UI.
- Apple says iOS 26.1 delivers extensive security patches reported to total roughly 50 fixes, plus quality-of-life changes like slide-to-stop alarms, an option to disable Camera Control on newer iPhones, and Apple Music mini player swipes; in the 26.2 beta, clock resizing still works only with the default font.
