Apple Expands Creator Studio With On-Device AI and Deeper Pixelmator Pro Integration

The update moves AI tools onto users’ devices and links Pixelmator Pro into Final Cut Pro and iWork to speed pro creative workflows.

  • Apple rolled out the coordinated Creator Studio refresh on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, delivering immediate updates across Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Compressor, Freeform previews, iWork apps, and Final Cut Camera.
  • Final Cut Pro gains on-device Generate Captions for automatic transcription, Edit Detection to split rendered video back into original clips, Auto Mask to isolate subjects like skin or sky, improved Color Match, and new Creator Themes for multiple aspect ratios.
  • Pixelmator Pro now opens and saves edits directly from Final Cut Pro, Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, adds natural-language image generation and a curated Content Hub, and can produce editable vector shapes from text prompts for iWork subscribers.
  • Logic Pro adds a rebuilt Chord ID, a new Producer Project and a granular sync mode in Alchemy, while Final Cut Camera adds Clean HDMI Out, expanded ProRes options, and a disable-digital-zoom setting for select iPhone models.
  • Most new AI-driven and cross-app features are delivered through the $12.99/month Creator Studio subscription with education and family pricing options, some iWork and Final Cut Camera updates are free to all users, and Apple previewed additional Freeform and OS-level integrations coming with iOS 27 and macOS 27.
