Overview

  • After unveiling its next-generation operating systems at WWDC 2025, Apple released the first developer beta of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 ahead of their mid-September rollout.
  • The initial iOS 26 beta, limited to iPhone 15 and 16 series devices, was reissued to resolve a bug that could display a false low battery icon and prevent affected models from restarting.
  • iOS 26 introduces Liquid Glass, a translucent design language, along with AI-driven capabilities such as Live Translation for calls and Visual Intelligence for in-app content recognition.
  • iPadOS 26 brings a Mac-like multitasking experience with resizable, movable and tiled app windows plus a streamlined menu bar for enhanced productivity.
