- Jeff Williams will relinquish his role as chief operating officer later this month and continue reporting to CEO Tim Cook while managing the design team, Apple Watch and health projects until his retirement late in 2025.

- Williams joined Apple in 1998 as head of worldwide procurement and became COO in 2015, overseeing the company’s worldwide operations, customer service, product quality and design strategy.
- A 30-year Apple veteran who began his career at GE Plastics in 1995, Khan has driven advanced manufacturing efforts and environmental programs that reduced the company’s carbon footprint by over 60 percent.
- After Williams retires later this year, the design team will report directly to Tim Cook as part of the leadership realignment.
