Overview
- Apple updated its website on July 14 with a list of products eligible for 2025 sales tax holidays in Alabama, Arkansas, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
- The tax-free windows span late July to early August with state-specific schedules, for example Alabama’s runs July 18–20 and Ohio’s extends August 1–14.
- Eligible devices vary by state—core items like Macs, iPads and accessories qualify everywhere, and select states also include iPhones and Apple Vision Pro—with price caps ranging from none in Arkansas to $2,500 in Massachusetts and $500 in Ohio.
- Exemptions apply both online and in stores but the savings may not appear at checkout and will instead be reflected on the final receipt.
- Students can stack these state tax breaks with Apple’s Back to School promotion to receive free or discounted accessories such as AirPods 4.
