Overview
- The new Liquid Glass design language brings a translucent, layered aesthetic inspired by visionOS to iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and CarPlay.
- Apple Intelligence expands with Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime and Phone, Visual Intelligence context actions, Genmoji customization and a Foundation Models framework opening on-device AI to developers.
- Core apps receive streamlined interfaces including a unified Phone app layout for recents, voicemail and favourites, a Messages app with in-line polls and custom backgrounds and a simplified Camera app layout.
- A new Apple Games app offers a central hub for discovering, launching and managing games along with dedicated Apple Arcade access.
- iOS 26 enters developer beta on June 9, with a public beta in July and a general release this fall, supporting iPhone 11 and later models and reserving Apple Intelligence features for iPhone 15 Pro and newer devices.
