Apple Card Savings Rate Rises to 3.5%

Aligning the account with Goldman Sachs' Marcus baseline, the small increase takes effect automatically for Apple Card users.

Overview

  • The annual percentage yield for Apple Card Savings was raised from 3.4% to 3.5% on September 22–23, 2026, in a change announced by Apple and Goldman Sachs.
  • At the new rate, a $1,000 balance held for one year would earn $35 in interest instead of $34 under the prior APY.
  • The savings account is available only to Apple Card holders and accepts Daily Cash transfers, Apple Cash deposits, or linked bank transfers, with interest compounded daily and paid monthly.
  • The rise reverses part of this year's cuts after two reductions in 2026 and brings the product in line with Goldman Sachs' standard Marcus rate, though separate Marcus promotional offers can still exceed it.
  • Users do not need to take action for the new rate to apply and the modest increase could slightly boost short-term returns for everyday Apple Card savers while leaving overall yields well below 2023–2024 peaks.
