Apple Brings Live Lakers Games to Vision Pro in Immersive Video

The trial brings Apple Immersive into live sports for the first time to test a geofenced, app-based distribution model.

  • Apple announced that select Los Angeles Lakers games will stream live in Apple Immersive Video on Vision Pro, the format’s first live sports broadcasts.
  • The first immersive game is expected in early 2026, with the full slate to be revealed later this fall.
  • Live access in the Lakers’ market will be available in a new Spectrum SportsNet app for authenticated Spectrum SportsNet subscribers and Spectrum Internet customers.
  • Replays and highlights will be offered on the NBA App and Spectrum SportsNet with a three-day on-demand window in the U.S., plus international replay availability in the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the UAE.
  • Production will use customized Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive Live cameras at courtside and under the baskets, with streams up to 150 Mbps and a requirement for visionOS 26 on Vision Pro.
