Apple Begins Nightly Projections of Public iPad-Designed Christmas Trees on Battersea Power Station Through Dec. 24

Apple's first public-entry edition pairs 24 winners with contributions from well-known artists, extending its Battersea holiday art tradition.

Overview

  • The projections run daily from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. local time from December 4 to December 24 on the landmark’s chimneys and wash towers.
  • Twenty-four winning designs were selected from public submissions to the Your Tree on Battersea competition and created on iPad.
  • Trees from Kylie Minogue, Sir Stephen Fry, Maro Itoje, Oliver Jeffers, David Shrigley OBE, and Munya Chawawa appear alongside the public winners.
  • The campaign was hosted by British comedian Munya Chawawa, with winners such as Varsha Simha and seven-year-old Miah D. B. describing their inspirations.
  • This year’s installation follows David Hockney’s 2023 iPad trees and Aardman’s 2024 iPhone animation at Apple’s U.K. headquarters at Battersea Power Station.
