Overview
- iOS 26.1 is now available, adding a setting to disable the lock-screen swipe that opens Camera.
- The option appears under Settings > Camera as “Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera.”
- Slight horizontal touches that begin the camera action had been shutting off the flashlight even if the swipe was canceled.
- Turning the swipe off helps the flashlight stay on more consistently during use.
- Users can still launch Camera via the lock-screen long‑press shortcut or the physical Camera Control button.
