APMRC Invites EPC Bids for Phase 1 of Vijayawada Metro

Overview

  • Phase 1 spans 38.40 km across two corridors with 33 stations, including 32 elevated stops and one underground station.
  • Corridor 1 runs 25.95 km between Pandit Nehru Bus Station and Gannavaram Bus Stand and features a 4.7 km double-deck flyover designed to optimize traffic flow.
  • Corridor 2 extends 12.45 km from Pandit Nehru Bus Station to Penamaluru and includes 12 stations.
  • Tenders have been issued under the EPC model to consolidate design, procurement and construction responsibilities under single contractors.
  • The overall project is slated for completion within 30 months from commencement, with the double-deck flyover due for delivery within 24 months.
