Overview
- The APCRDA approved floating a Request for Proposal to prepare a regional master plan for the Amaravati Economic Region covering nine districts from Eluru to Prakasam.
- The authority decided on May 30 to set up a special tribunal to resolve building and unauthorised-construction disputes and to establish an independent fire-control wing to streamline No Objection Certificate issuance.
- Officials authorised a capital allocation of about ₹548 crore for Andhra Pradesh High Court infrastructure and approved PPP or joint-venture procurement for utilities including a City Gas Distribution network and a giant observation wheel for tourism.
- The APCRDA cancelled the existing Tabreed district-cooling contract and will invite fresh tenders while directing officials to design lower- and middle-income housing to meet World Bank and ADB norms.
- The authority also approved practical land and relief measures, including allotting up to five cents for unsuitable plots under the Negotiable Settlement Policy and waiving registration fees for 495 affected farmers, which will affect local allotments and housing access.
