• Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh took the oath of office at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad, administered by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma.
• The Supreme Court Collegium recommended his transfer on May 28 and the Union government approved it on July 14.
• He succeeds Justice Sujoy Paul, who was transferred to the Calcutta High Court.
• The government also finalized transfers of chief justices in Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madras and Tripura high courts.
• Singh, a University of Delhi alumnus and great-grandson of former Chief Justice B.P. Sinha, has led the Tripura High Court since April 2023 after serving as acting chief justice of the Jharkhand High Court in late 2022.
