• The 59-year-old Chandler driver was told to stay inside as police threw him a rope from a patrol vehicle and guided him out safely.
• The vehicle was recovered once waters dropped and was towed to the driver’s home.
• Superstition Fire and Medical initially said two people were rescued, but officials later confirmed there was only one.
• Crews encountered fast-moving floodwater during Monday’s storms, and the scene was later turned over to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
