AOPA, King Schools Roll Out Relief for CFIs After AceCFI’s Approval Lapses

The assistance helps instructors stuck mid-renewal meet FAA requirements with updated courses reflecting MOSAIC changes.

Overview

  • AceCFI’s website and contacts went dark as its FAA FIRC authorization expired on September 30, leaving many instructors mid-renewal.
  • AOPA is providing its eFIRC at no cost to affected AOPA members who show proof of prior AceCFI enrollment, with support available through AOPA Member Services.
  • AOPA’s revamped eFIRC launches November 1 with a new MOSAIC-focused elective on sport pilots and light-sport aircraft, resource pages, and pacing that removes per‑slide timing while preserving the 16‑hour requirement.
  • King Schools set a $29 FIRC rate through February 2026 and will grant free access to former AceCFI lifetime customers whose CFI certificates expire on or before February 1, 2026.
  • Both programs are intended to help displaced instructors meet looming recertification deadlines following AceCFI’s apparent closure and the recent start of MOSAIC’s first phase on October 22.
