Anvisa Seizes Coffee Brand and Suspends Axis Nutrition in Widening Supplement Crackdown

Overview

• Anvisa ordered nationwide seizure and prohibition of all lots of Câmara roasted and ground coffee after Lacen/RJ detected glass‑like fragments in lot 160229 and packaging cited nonexistent or irregular manufacturers.
• All products from Axis Nutrition were recalled and suspended after a 15–17 September inspection found grave good‑manufacturing‑practice breaches, including no qualified technical lead, poor water controls, missing traceability and incomplete allergen management.
• Whey Isomix Definition (brand Proteus) was pulled after the brand owner said production ended in early 2024 and it has no link to the manufacturer named on current packaging, prompting removal of all lots.
• Earlier actions targeted Verde Flora supplements — Cúrcuma Cápsulas 500mg, Chá Verde and Centella Asiática — sold without registration, with a clandestine warehouse in Itapemirim interdicted in August.
• Other suspensions include Creatine Powder 100% Pure (Muscle Supp), Whey Gourmet and Nitro Way 3W for falsified or unknown origin, plus Feno Grego Prevent for failing identity and purity criteria and DHT Blocker Fotisolution 5X for unevaluated ingredients, with consumers urged to verify product registration.
