- On Aap Ki Adalat, Kher recalled meeting Kumar on the Karma set in 1986 and realizing he had become an actor because of the legend’s influence
- Director Subhash Ghai once warned Kher not to gaze at Kumar too adoringly so his performance as the villain Dr. Dang would not suffer
- During the filming of Karma’s famous slap scene, Kher asked Kumar to hit him for real but the veteran joked that his blow would render him unconscious
