Antonio Brown's Albany Empire kicked out of National Arena League after failure to pay dues and fines

  • Antonio Brown became the majority owner of the Albany Empire in April but failed to make required monthly payments to the league and pay fines.
  • The National Arena League terminated Brown's ownership and membership agreement after the Empire missed the May 15 payment and did not pay a $1,000 fine.
  • Brown initially paid the April assessment but questioned it and his representatives denied he owned the team.
  • There were also reports of players and coaches not being paid under Brown's ownership.
  • Brown has been out of the NFL since leaving the Buccaneers in 2022 and had vowed to play for the Empire but did not.
