Antisemitic and Anti-Muslim Incidents Surge in U.S. Following Israel-Hamas War

Reports from the Anti-Defamation League and the Council on American-Islamic Relations reveal a significant increase in hate crimes and bias incidents since October 2023.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) have reported a significant increase in antisemitic and anti-Muslim incidents in the U.S. since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023.
The ADL recorded 2,031 antisemitic incidents nationwide between October 7 and December 7, 2023, a 337% increase compared to the same period in 2022.
The incidents include physical assaults, vandalism, verbal or written harassment, and rallies involving antisemitic rhetoric.
CAIR reported a 'staggering' 2,171 complaints of bias incidents or requests for help between October 7 and December 2, 2023, amid an ongoing wave of anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian hate.
The surge in hate crimes and bias incidents has led to a climate of fear among Jewish, Muslim, and Arab communities in the U.S.
