- The Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu has registered FIR No. 08/2025 against four ex-revenue officials and three beneficiaries for alleged illegal land allotment and sale.
- The accused include former Tehsildars Ravinder Sharma and Mohammad Bashir, Naib Tehsildar Mohd Sarwar Lone, Patwari Mohd Rasheed Malik, and beneficiaries Tara Singh, Nazir Ahmad, and Javid Iqbal.
- State land was allotted to Tara Singh under Cabinet Order No. 578-C (1954) and Government Order No. 254/C (2014) without fulfilling mandatory cultivation requirements.
- Investigations revealed that the land remained under the tenancy of Nazir Ahmad, while a Power of Attorney was executed in favor of Javid Iqbal before ownership rights were granted to Tara Singh.
- The accused allegedly conspired to fraudulently obtain and sell the land, valued at crores of rupees, resulting in substantial financial losses to the state. Further investigation is ongoing.
