Anthropologist Identifies Real Human Skull in Florida Thrift Store's Halloween Display; Further Investigation Underway

Real Skull Found Within Charity Shop's Halloween Decorations Was Purchased From Storage Unit Years Ago, Not Considered Suspicious As Further Testing Begins.

An anthropologist shopping at a Florida thrift store identified a real human skull displayed as part of the Halloween decorations, leading to the involvement of local law enforcement.
The skull was found in the Halloween section of the thrift store, priced at $4,000, and was initially purchased unknowingly as part of a storage unit by the store owner years prior.
Despite the potential legal implications of selling human remains in Florida, the Lee County Sheriff's office has stated that the case is not suspicious and no legal charges have been mentioned.
The skull is in the custody of the District 21 Medical Examiner’s Office, which will be carrying out further tests to assess authenticity and gather additional details.
Although the skull initially piqued interest as an antique potentially belonging to a Native American, preliminary analysis suggests it could be of archeological origin and about 75 years old.
This is not the first instance of human skulls appearing in donation-based establishments, with similar occurrences being reported in Arizona and Texas.
