Anthropic in Talks for $750 Million Funding Round Led by Menlo Ventures

Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup, is in talks to raise $750 million in a venture round led by Menlo Ventures.
The deal could value the company at $15 billion, not including the investment, which is more than three times its valuation this spring.
Anthropic, whose co-founders are veterans of rival OpenAI, already has investments from Amazon and Google.
OpenAI’s board approached Dario Amodei, Anthropic’s CEO, in November about possibly combining the two companies.
Menlo Ventures, which has invested in Anthropic in the past, raised $1.35 billion last month to invest in fledgling AI ventures.
