Anthropic Extends $1 Claude AI Deal to All Three Government Branches

The deal is designed to streamline secure AI adoption by offering a fully supported, low-risk trial of Claude through established GSA procurement channels.

Overview

  • Anthropic will offer Claude for Enterprise and Claude for Government to the executive, legislative and judicial branches via the GSA’s OneGov and Multiple Award Schedule for $1 per agency for one year.
  • Claude for Government carries FedRAMP High certification for sensitive unclassified workloads while Claude for Enterprise provides expanded data-protection features for agency use.
  • The company will supply technical support and multicloud hosting through AWS, Google Cloud and Palantir to help federal workers integrate Claude into existing infrastructures.
  • This move follows OpenAI’s $1 ChatGPT Enterprise trial for the executive branch and coincides with Department of Defense awards of up to $200 million to Anthropic, OpenAI and other firms.
  • Access for members of Congress and the federal judiciary hinges on separate approvals by those branches before agencies can participate.
