Anthropic Brings Native Claude Platform to AWS

AWS customers get the full Claude API under AWS controls as Anthropic runs the service outside AWS infrastructure.

Overview

  • A new Claude Platform path on AWS is now generally available, giving customers AWS sign-in through IAM, audit logs in CloudTrail, and a single AWS invoice that retires against existing commitments.
  • Anthropic says the AWS offering matches the native Claude API, including day-one access to new features and betas such as Claude Managed Agents, the Advisor strategy, web search and fetch, code execution, Files, Skills, MCP connector, prompt caching, citations, and batch jobs.
  • Anthropic operates the platform and processes data outside the AWS security boundary, whereas Claude on Amazon Bedrock keeps AWS as the data processor for customers that require data to stay within AWS.
  • Enterprises can choose the native feature set and faster updates through the Claude Platform on AWS or stay on Bedrock for strict regional residency and deeper AWS-managed integrations, with both options billed through AWS.
  • The release arrives within an expanded Anthropic–AWS partnership that includes long-term access to Trainium capacity, with reports citing more than $100 billion in compute commitments over the next decade.
