Anthropic Brings Claude Cowork to Mobile and Web

The rollout is meant to remove device friction by letting paid users start, approve, and continue multi-step AI workflows across phones, browsers, and desktops.

Overview

  • Anthropic announced on July 7 that Claude Cowork, which launched as a desktop app in January 2026, has been expanded to mobile apps and a web client and is now available to all paid subscription tiers with Max-plan users given early access.
  • The mobile and web releases add remote session continuity and device handoff so users can begin a task on one device, receive approval prompts on a phone, and pick up the finished work on another device.
  • Claude Cowork will run on iPhone, iPad, Android and via claude.ai in web browsers, and Anthropic offered doubled Cowork usage limits as part of the rollout promotion.
  • Anthropic reported sampled analytics from about 1.2 million sessions across more than 600,000 organizations showing 33.4% of use was business process work, 16.4% content creation, and 8.7% software development.
  • The company says cross-device availability should ease internal adoption by removing a key friction point, keeping desktop for deeper local file and browser integration while positioning Cowork for non-developer knowledge work in a market that includes developer-focused tools like OpenAI’s Codex.
