• Turner was presented the badge at Blue Peter’s new Manchester base by hosts Abby Cook, Joel Mawhinney, Shini Muthukrishnan and Hacker T Dog.
• The recognition arrives 31 years after her final episode, following her 1992–94 tenure on the show.
• Blue Peter will debut a new look and format on Friday 5 September from Campfield Facilities at Versa Studios in Manchester.
• The BBC says future editions will no longer be broadcast live in response to changing viewing habits.
• Filming will continue in the Blue Peter Garden at Salford’s Media City and at RHS Bridgewater.
