Annual Oct. 31 Parade Instituted at Statue of Unity as Modi Launches Rs 1,140-Crore Projects

The plan ties Patel’s 150th year to a broader push for unity messaging alongside new investment at Ekta Nagar.

  • Home Minister Amit Shah announced a Republic Day–style parade will be held every October 31 at Ekta Nagar to mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off e-buses and inaugurate or lay foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 1,140 crore, including Birsa Munda Tribal University and an e‑bus depot with 25 electric buses.
  • On October 31, Modi will offer floral tribute at the Statue of Unity, administer the Ekta Diwas pledge and receive the ceremonial salute at the National Unity Day parade.
  • The parade will feature 16 contingents from CAPFs, state police and the NCC, women-led formations, BSF Operation Sindoor gallantry medalists, five CRPF Shaurya Chakra awardees, 10 tableaux and an IAF Surya Kiran air show.
  • Shah also announced a Bharat Parv in Ekta Nagar from November 1–15 and an expanded nationwide Run for Unity, while Modi will interact with 660 officer trainees during the Aarambh 7.0 programme and release a Rs 150 coin and stamp.
